Wylfa power station was the last of the generation of Magnox power stations to be built with a workforce of over 400 people we are committed to continuously developing our staff.

Applications are invited for the position of Station Chemist within our Environmental, Health, Safety & Quality Department.


The successful candidate will
¨ Specify and monitor chemical parameters with respect to conventional and nuclear plant.
¨ Ensure compliance with all Environmental Health and Safety regulations as applicable to nuclear power stations.
¨ Maximise plant efficiency lifetime.
¨ Manage the station’s chemical laboratories.
¨ Demonstrate effective leadership skills to promote continuous improvements in chemical control standards.
¨ Provide support and advise to departmental managers on all aspects of chemistry.

You will ideally possess a degree in chemistry and hold membership of the Royal Society of Chemistry. Ideally you will have five to seven years’ experience in power plant chemistry with a thorough knowledge of operational chemical requirements, chemical laboratory practices and familiarity with chemical analytical techniques.

Good breadth of vision, influencing, analytical, performance management and open communication skills are essential in this post.
